The History of Dresses 4 Missions

Ms. Roselyn’s Story

What began as a simple idea in one woman’s heart—to help children in need around the world—quickly turned into a global ministry. After serving with her husband as missionaries in Australia and Kenya, she longed to continue making a difference back home. A small dress pattern brought home by her daughter sparked a vision, and soon, dresses were being made and sent with missionaries to places like Sudan, the Dominican Republic, and beyond.

Since the first workshop in 2013, over 5,000 dresses and shorts have been handmade and delivered to children in 14 countries.

Ms. Susan’s Story

Susan’s heart for sewing and missions began early, but in 2012, God used a workshop in upstate New York to ignite a new passion: making dresses for girls in need around the world. Over the years, Susan sewed hundreds of dresses and helped lead workshops—even as God repeatedly closed doors, saying, “Not now.”

Through personal trials, physical challenges, and seasons of waiting, Susan remained faithful. Then in 2023, a seemingly ordinary Diamond Art class turned into a divine appointment. With one conversation and the words, “I know people!” God made it clear: “YES, NOW IS THE TIME!”
